1.
In a significant move
to strengthen the Indian Army’s operational readiness in counter-terrorism
operations, the Ministry of Defence has concluded 13 contracts worth Rs 1,981.9
crore under the Emergency Procurement mechanism, according to an official statement
issued on Tuesday.

welcomes ceasefire between Iran and Israel; US President Donald Trump lashes

Finance Minister
Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday lauded the resilience of Bharatiya exporters for
successfully "swimming against the tide" to reach a record high
turnover of $825 billion in total exports despite the global slowdown.
"Bharat’s total exports reached a record high of $825 billion, achieving 6
per cent growth over the previous year and significantly, $466 billion over
2013-14.

The NAVYA initiative
is step towards empowering adolescent girls in India. Launched on 24th June
2025, this programme is a collaboration between the Ministry of Women and Child
Development and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It aims
to provide vocational training to girls aged 16 to 18 years, particularly in
non-traditional job roles.

The Directorate
General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has carried out comprehensive surveillance at
major airports, including Delhi and Mumbai. The surveillance revealed multiple
deficiencies across the country's aviation ecosystem.

The government is set
to start a crop-wise campaign from Thursday to increase crop production,
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, the
crop-wise campaign will start with Soybean from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He
said, during the campaign farmers, scientists and stakeholders will sit
together and discuss to increase the production of Soybean.

The Central Health
Ministry of India has announced plans to integrate the Rare Donor Registry with
the national digital platform e-Rakta Kosh. Developed under the National Health
Mission (NHM), e-Rakta Kosh provides real-time data on blood banks,
availability of blood units, and donation camps across India. This integration
is expected to save lives by making rare blood types easily traceable across
states and blood banks.

Ministry of Statistics
and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has announced that it will conduct the
first-ever All-India Household Income Survey in 2026. This move will help
understand income distribution, assess technological impacts on wages, and fill
existing gaps in welfare and economic inequality data. The survey will be
guided by a Technical Expert Group (TEG) chaired by Surjit Bhalla, former
Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
10. Indian
Navy will commission INS Tamal, a state-of-the-art stealth multi-role frigate,
on 1 July 2025, at Kaliningrad, Russia.

ISRAEL—IRAN WAR:
A. We
may reasonably assume USA exited from ISRAEL—IRAN war.
B. Trump wrote last
night on social media that both Iran and Israel would cease their attacks on
each other in the next twelve hours.
C. Israeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said soon afterward that Israel had
achieved its war goals and agreed to the ceasefire in coordination with Trump,
while Iranian state television today framed news of the truce as an
Iranian military victory.
D. Shortly
after the ceasefire was due to take effect last night, Israel’s Défense
minister accused Iran of launching missile attacks and ordered Israel
to respond militarily. A post on the Telegram channel of Iran’s state
television denied ordering the launch.
E. Heavy
attacks had preceded the truce announcement. Iran reported at
least one death in an Israeli strike on a prison yesterday, while Israel reported four
deaths after an Iranian strike on a residential building.
F. Also
yesterday, a drone attack hit an
Iraqi military base that formerly housed U.S. troops. No casualties were
reported and no group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. The
base had been the site of repeated attacks on U.S. troops by
Iran-backed militias prior to U.S. withdrawal from the site.
G. NATO
summit kicks off. European NATO members are expected to showcase new plans
to boost Défense spending at the summit beginning today. The leaders of
Australia, Japan, and South Korea, who have attended NATO summits in the
past, will not participate this
year.
H. Canada-EU
Défense pact. Canada moved toward joining
an over $170 billion joint weapons procurement fund with the European Union
(EU) in a new security pact signed yesterday.
I. Portugal plans to
increase the amount of time that foreign nationals must reside in the country
before becoming eligible for citizenship. For nationals of most countries, the
requirement will double from five to ten years. The government sent a proposal
for the measure to the legislature.
J. Mali-Russia
energy deal. Russia committed to
expanding trade cooperation with Mali after signing new agreements that include
nuclear energy, the Kremlin said yesterday without giving further
details.
K. Thailand has closed its
border crossings into Cambodia to almost all travellers, following border
clashes last month that left one soldier dead. While the violence has not
continued, Cambodia suspended Thai fuel and gas imports.
L. Ecuador
prison break. The Ecuadorian government announced a
$1 million reward for information on suspected drug boss Rolando Federico
Gomez, a high-profile prisoner who escaped from prison Friday. President Daniel
Noboa has made cracking down on organized crime one of his flagship policies.

Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s Axiom-4
mission to the International Space Station (ISS) is now targeting a launch
today. According to a statement on NASA’s official website, NASA, Axiom Space,
and SpaceX are aiming for a launch at 12:01 PM IST.

A
U.S. National Science Foundation and Department of Energy-funded telescope
that holds the
world’s largest digital camera released its
first images yesterday. The Vera C. Rubin Observatory is located in Chile’s
Atacama Desert. In a ten-hour period, it detected over two thousand new
asteroids. None were on a collision course with Earth, the observatory said.
The
CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology
(CSIR-NIIST) and the North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach
(NECTAR) have signed an MoU to set up vegan leather manufacturing units in
Meghalaya and other northeastern states. The initiative focuses on transforming
Agro-waste into plant-based leather, empowering local farmers, MSMEs, and
women-led self-help groups while reducing environmental pollution from waste
burning.
CRIME & PUNISHMENT:
Civil
Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the black box of the Air India plane,
which crashed in Ahmedabad recently, is being examined by the Aircraft Accident
Investigation Bureau. Talking to media on the sidelines of an event in Pune, he
rejected reports suggesting that the black box will be sent abroad for an
inquiry.

Train
services between south Assam, Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram and the rest of the
country via Guwahati have been suspended since last evening amid landslides
impacting the railway track in the New Haflong-Jatinga -- Lampur section.

India
Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast favourable conditions for further advancement
of monsoon into Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan in next two days.
In
Bihar, the South West Monsoon is fully active triggering heavy rainfall in
several parts of the state. Heavy rainfall has also occurred in the catchment
areas of rivers originating from Nepal and due to this, rivers including
Gandak, Bagmati, and Kosi are in full flow.
