The final strategic arms limitation treaty between the United States and Russia will expire on February 5, 2026. LEGAL:

The Supreme Court has delivered a comprehensive opinion on the constitutional powers of the President and Governors regarding State Bills, firmly holding that courts cannot impose deadlines or declare ‘deemed assent’. The advisory opinion was issued by a five-judge Bench in response to a Presidential Reference under Article 143.

India’s food safety regulator has taken a decisive step to curb misleading health claims by ordering the removal of beverages falsely marketed as oral rehydration solutions. Mexican authorities arrested a suspect accused of orchestrating the killing this month of mayor Carlos Manzo, an outspoken critic of drug cartels.

MISHAPS: -

 An Indian Air Force Tejas Light Combat Aircraft crashed during an aerial display at the Dubai Air Show, resulting in the death of the pilot and marking only the second recorded accident in the fighter’s 24-year history. The incident, witnessed by thousands at one of the world’s largest aviation exhibitions, has renewed focus on the aircraft’s capabilities, safety record and development journey.  Emergency teams responded swiftly, but the pilot succumbed to injuries. The IAF has ordered a court of inquiry to determine the cause.

 In Pakistan, 15 people have been killed and several injured after a gas explosion at a factory near Malikpur area in Faisalabad.

By the end of this decade, economic growth among Group of Twenty countries will fall to 2.9 percent, down from 3.2 percent in 2025, according to a new forecast by the International Monetary Fund.
