Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced the expansion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the establishment of 100 new Sainik Schools across the country, Speaking at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Sainik School Ghorakhal, Singh said the number of NCC cadets will be increased from 17 lakh to 20 lakh, enabling more young people to imbibe values of discipline, leadership, and patriotism.

NCC shall be made compulsory for 2 Years in schools, and 3 Years in college, as pre-requisite to get ‘PASS CERTIFICATES’.

Union Government is set to introduce the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, 2026, in the Rajya Sabha. The proposed legislation seeks to establish a unified legal framework governing recruitment, deputation, promotions and service conditions across all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

Iran’s National Defense Council:  Any attempt to attack the Iranian coast or islands will cause “all communication lines in the Persian Gulf to be mined” as a deadline imposed by US President Donald Trump for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz expires today.

US President Donald Trump:  “PAUSE OF OFEENCE BY USA”, he announced claiming that discussions are ongoing with Iran to “determine whether a broader agreement can be reached”, saying that “this time, Iran means business; they want to settle. They want peace”.

Iranian officials denied any such negotiations, and declared that the American leader had backed down “following Iran’s firm warning”.

Iran’s Tasnim news ‌agency, citing an Iranian official, ⁠said that the strait ‌of Hormuz will ‌not return ‌to ⁠pre-war conditions ⁠and energy markets will remain unsettled, adding ‌that no negotiations with the ‌U.S. are under way.

Iran’s parliamentary speaker saying such claims are “fake news” and being “used to manipulate financial and oil markets”.

Oil prices dropped by about 11 percent after Trump announced a delay to attacks on Iran’s power plants for five days amid his claims of talks.

CRIME & PUNISHMENT:

 The Supreme Court on Monday (March 23, 2026) said the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) must probe the financial fraud allegations linked to Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) and promoter Anil Ambani in a “transparent, fair and credible manner”, while making a note that the probe agencies’ previous conduct had shown “reluctance” and lack of discipline or structure.
