Bangladesh is observed Genocide Day yesterday in
solemn remembrance of the victims of the brutal military crackdown carried
out by Pakistani forces on the night of March 25, 1971, under the codename
Operation Searchlight. The day marks one of the darkest chapters in the
country’s history, when unarmed Bengalis – including students, teachers and
civilians – were killed across the then East Pakistan, particularly in Dhaka,
triggering widespread atrocities during the Liberation War. |

Through
Pakistan, USA sent its 15-point conditions for TRUCE.
An
Iranian diplomatic source described the US’s 15-point plan as “extremely
maximalist and unreasonable“, while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said no
negotiations were taking place between Tehran and Washington.
Iran
has set an extremely high bar for ceasefire negotiations. The IRGC’s demands
include the closure of all U.S. bases in the Gulf, reparations for strikes on
Iran, a Hormuz transit fee arrangement, an end to strikes on Hezbollah, the
lifting of all sanctions, and the preservation of its missile program. A U.S.
official called the demands “ridiculous and unrealistic.” The two sides are not

The
US has ordered the deployment of 2,500 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division
to the Middle East.
That’s
in addition to two Marine Expeditionary Units already en route from opposite
sides of the Pacific:
The
Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group moving in from Japan.
The
Boxer Amphibious Ready Group en route from San Diego.
Combined,
the backup troops will add between 6,000 and 7,000 marines and sailors to the
about 50,000 already positioned in the Middle East.
The
US deployments are among the largest since the Iraq war in 2003, when the US
sent 160,000 soldiers.
While
no ground operation has been ordered yet, the scale and composition of forces,
combined with public statements from US officials, suggest at least three
scenarios may be under consideration:
1.0
Seizing Kharg Island,
2.0
Clearing Iran’s coastline to reopen,
and control the Strait of Hormuz, and,
3.0
In the most consequential scenario,
securing Iran’s nuclear material.
I
think USA has no option but to set BOOTS on soil to keep its image as
superpower intact. And it happens the
sooner, the better. Break Iran, create a
