In
Uttarakhand, the “Green Card system” for commercial passenger vehicles has been
introduced from 30 March to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the Char Dham

Union government is considering a major policy
shift to extend social security coverage to unorganized sector workers by
bringing them under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and the
Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). The proposal aims to ensure
pension and insurance benefits for millions of workers currently outside formal
welfare systems, including gig and platform workers.
