INDEPENDENT BANGLADESH: - A DREAM OF BENGALI MUSLIMS, BUT A COMPULSION FOR INDIA. © SARASIJ MAJUMDER There is no big conspiracy theory but complex geopolitics here. Splitting PAKISTAN into two, East, and West-- was a GEOPOLITICAL,AND MILITARY requirement. May be some more splitting of Pakistan is essential. Eking out of Bangladesh caused a massive territorial loss to Pakistan — hurting both their power and ego. Within 3 days of defeat, the Pak President — Gen. Yahya Khan — was fired from both Presidency and the military. In fact, the military itself lost power to civilians due to the humiliating surrender. The two countries have not fought a full war in the 50 years since as no other Pakistani leader wanted to take such a personal risk of losing a war against INDIA. BUT, WE HAVN’T USED THE SLACK TIME WELL. Prevented India from having to fight Pakistan on two sides — Western and Eastern fronts. A single front war is much easier.

NEW TOUGH STATE AND SOME MYSTRY IN THE DEATH GAME SARASIJ MAJUMDER INDIA has emerged as the latest ‘Tough State’ which is due to present Political Leadership, & National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval’s ‘defensive offence’ doctrine. As NSA, he set his doctrine into motion with a terse but eloquent warning to Pakistan: ‘You do one more Mumbai, you loose Baluchistan.’ And from the beginning of Modi’s prime ministership, we have witnessed defensive offence in action. The 2015 Myanmar cross-border operation against Naga militants, the 2016 post-Uri attack surgical strike across the LoC, and Balakot airstrike of 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack were a long-wanted departure from India’s former policy of self restraint. India even took China by surprise by digging its heels for 72 days in Doklam under a constant VERBAL threat from every Chinese media and matching China’s murderous aggression at Galwan and Pangong-Tso with bloodier reprisals. Let us NOTE what has happened to I

KHALISTAN MOVEMENT—BACK GROUND SARASIJ MAJUMDER Khalistan Movement is a Separatist Movement with only aim to create a Nation State which would serve as a Homeland for Sikhs only by extending existing Punjab Region of Indian Subcontinent. The proposed state would consist of land that currently forms Punjab, Haryana, HP, part of Rajasthan, India & Punjab, Pakistan. Ever since the movement garnered support in1980s, the territorial ambitions of Khalistan resorted to only violent means. Former PM of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, according Jagjit Singh Chouhan had proposed to extend all out help to create Khalistan during his talks with Chouhan, following the conclusion of the Indo Pak War of 1971 which resulted in creation of Bangladesh. The call for a separate Sikh state began in wake of the fall of the British Rule. In 1940, the first explicit call for Khalistan was made in a pamphlet titled "Khalistan". Master Tara Singh fled from West Punjab, to save his life—reac

TWO MYSTERIOUS DEATHS IN CANADA AND TRUDEAU SARASIJ MAJUMDER The contradictory responses, and reactions from Canada: CASE--1 Karima Baluch, a Baluch human rights activist, who advocated for Baluchistan’s independence from Pakistan and was featured on the BBC's 2016 list of influential women, disappeared and two days later her body was found submerged in Lake Ontario. Despite strong suspicion of Pakistan (read ISI) behind it, her death was brushed under the carpet. Karima, aged 37, had been found dead at the Toronto city waterfront on December 21, 2020, after going missing a day earlier. Often referred to as ‘Banuk Karima’ (respectable Karima), she had challenged traditional politics in Baluchistan and brought more women’s voices into politics. In 2015, after coping with years of threats and terrorism charges, she had taken refuge in Canada, where she continued her activism for the rights of Baloch’s. In 2016, she was named in the  BBC 100 Women  list of the most inspirational

2024--BJP IN WEST BENGAL SARASIJ MAJUMDER The BJP made deep inroads in West Bengal in 2019 General election by winning 18 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats. Most of them came from North Bengal and the part also known as Jangal Mahal, which borders Jharkhand and Bihar. The party is very strong in these regions. Then in Assembly election the party increased its tally from 3 in 2016 to 77 in 2021. The party is looking to win big in next Lok Sabha election in Bengal. Darjeeling BJP has been winning this seat since 2009. They are strong here and will win this seat under any situation. BJP won this seat by a huge margin in 2019 due to support from Gorkhas. They got decisive lead in Gorkha dominated Assembly segments of Darjeeling, Kalim Pong, and Kurseong. Gorkhas promises are unfulfilled and BJP should look after them. The NOTABLE thing is—TMC influence is minimal. Bongaoan Cabinet minister (MoS) Shantanu Thakur is the MP from Bongaoan. He represents the Matua community who are demand

CHINESE AGGRESSION –1962 WHY CHINA WENT BACK FROM NEFA SARASIJ MAJUMDER C hina reached up to BOMDILLA, crossing SE-LA, and then went back, leaving the acquired territory for re-occupation by INDIA. WHY?? Mao was not soft on anybody - including his own army, and citizens, let alone INDIA. THEN?? Requires some in depth analysis, and understanding. In the 1962 war, China had the element of surprise. Nobody in the world thought China would attack India. However, on October 16, 1962, something crazy happened that made the world forget India and China, for the time being. The  Cuban Missile Crisis  brought the world to the brink of total destruction as the US and USSR began the world’s biggest staring match. A single mistake could have brought 1000s of nuclear weapons raining around the globe. The citizens of the world were nervously watching that. 4 days later, China crossed into the Indian borders using that distraction. Mao had known of the crisis brewing in Cuba through

Romeo-Juliet law & Underage sex : NEED TO FILL A VACUUM: SARASIJ MAJUMDER The Supreme Court recently sought the Centre's response on application of the Romeo-Juliet law to India to decriminalise consensual teenage sex as a PIL claimed millions of under-18 girls and over-18 boys engage in consensual sex but a boy gets arrested for statutory rape if the girl gets pregnant and her parents lodge a complaint with the police. What POCSO says: - Under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012, consent of a child below 18 years of age is immaterial and any person who attempts sexual activity with such an underage person would be guilty of sexual assault. Under Section 375 of Indian Penal Code, there is a condition when    “… sex with a girl below the age of 16 is rape even if she had given her consent”. The Romeo-Juliet law: - Prior to the Romeo-Juliet law which is in force in many foreign countries, statutory rap
