BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY--I GHULAM DASTAGIR: AN UNSUNG HERO SARASIJ MAJUMDER He was the Deputy Station Superintendent of Bhopal Junction on December 3rd 1984. Yes, the Night Bhopal Gas tragedy happened. Unfortunately for him and fortunately for so many, he stayed there to complete some pending work. At midnight when he stepped on to the platform, he felt an itch in his throat and burning sensation in his eyes. He rushed to his Station Superintendent's office, but he was dead already. The Gorakhpur - Mumbai express train with more than 1000 passengers on board was waiting on the platform, for which the departure time was 20 minutes away. Trusting his instincts, he knew something was clearly wrong. He summoned his staff and told them to clear the train for departure. Even though the staff wasn't ready to do that without any authority, he said he would take full responsibility for the early departure. Breaking all the rules, he flagged off the train.   “SUPARI” -THE UNDERWORLD CODE WORD SARASIJ MAJUMDER   Many moons ago, long before the British era, a little-known king established his rule on the island of Mahim in modern-day Mumbai. Legend has it that he also gave the code-word for contract killing to the Mumbai underworld. The king was Bhimdev. His origins were unclear, no portraits of him have survived, and the palace itself is no longer standing, but there is a folklore that is well worth hearing. He has been the subject of conflicting theories, but based on Stephen Meredith Edwardes’ book, he has been identified as the son of Ramachandra of Devagiri. After his father was defeated by Allaudin Khilji, he fled to the Konkan shore. Around the late 13th century, he began to take over the coastal settlements, eventually making his way to Mahikavati, now known as Mahim in Mumbai. Enchanted by the beauty of the remote island he decided to build his capital there. According to Hussain Zaidi's book "Dongri to Dubai

THE TWO PRIME MINISTERS SARASIJ MAJUMDER “A ‘Yes man’ is a dangerous man, a menace. He will go very far. He can become a minister, a secretary or a Field Marshal but he can never become a leader, nor ever be respected. He will be used by his superiors, disliked by his colleagues, despised by subordinates”—SAM MANEKSHAW. The only problem with Dr Manmohan Singh's working style was that he couldn't say those words –“I DON’T AGREE”, and COULDN’T SAY “NO”. Those were not there in his vocabulary. HE WAS TELLING “YES” TO WHATEVER CONGRESS PRESIDENT SAID. AND INDIA PAID THE PRICE. A FATAL INCOMPETENCY FOR THE POST OF A PRIME MINISTER. And he was not even elected by people. And that was why he was selected   as a PM MASK   for PRESIDENT OF CONGRESS—whose only past qualification was getting appointed as a WAITRESS in a BRITISH PUB. MOUNI MOHAN couldn't exercise his authority,   when the dead body of former Prime Minister Narsimha Rao, under whom he worked,   was insulted

The Process of Canning Invented How many knows the name of INVENTOR?? SARASIJ MAJUMDER Which person faded away into obscurity despite being responsible for one of humanity’s most important inventions? Napoleon is credited with saying ——“An army marches on its stomach” The food available to soldiers, circa 1810, in EUROPE, was hard bread and salted meat, which was neither nutritious nor appetizing. Napoleon offered a prize of 12,000 Francs to anyone who could invent a better way to store food for his troops. Chef Nicolas Appert(as in appetizing) rose to the challenge. He perfected a method of putting food in jars, submerging the jars in boiling water to preserve the food, then seal the jars. In other words—- Process of canning was invented. This is perfected as the time, and science progressed.  For his invention, Appert was given a large cash prize by the French government, because his invention of canning was extremely important for the French military in the Napol

Gold Medallist MBBS, from Mandua in Karnataka, and MD from Calcutta Medical University. He does not have his own clinic. It takes lakhs of rupees to build a cabin. From where will you get so much money...?? He lives in a two-room house away from the city. How can patients come so far for treatment, so he examines hundreds of poor patients daily sitting outside a fast-food restaurant in the city from 7 am to 7 pm on his bicycle. Diagnoses them thoroughly and prescribes   generic medicines. He charges only 5 rupees. Yes, just Rs.5. Doctors with a Gold medal and MD degree charge only Rs 5 from poor patients. In today's world where doctors are literally looting the poor, common people. But Dr. Shankar Gowda is a god to all his patients. At an event organized in New Delhi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari pre

NIKOLA TESLA THE FATHER OF ALTERNATING CURRENT THE FORGOTTEN SCIENTIST IN HISTORY SARASIJ MAJUMDER Nikola Tesla's final photograph, left, shows him thin and haggard, a far cry from the brilliant and confident man he once was. Sadly, Tesla never received the recognition he deserved for his many contributions to science and technology. He died in poverty and obscurity; forgotten by the world he had helped to shape. Nikola Tesla inventions constitute numerous technological breakthroughs throughout his lifetime. Born in Smiljan, Croatia, in 1856, the math and physics genius contributed innovations that continue to impact our lives of daily today. He held over three hundred patents, but was only recognized for some. Tesla was a visionary who dreamed of a self-sustaining world powered by clean, renewable energy. He believed that electricity should be free for all, and he worked tirelessly to develop technologies that would make this possible. However, Tesla's ideas were o

UP has banned Halal certification of products SARASIJ MAJUMDER The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh has banned the production, storage, distribution and sale of food products with halal certification with immediate effect while exempting   products manufactured for export only. In a statement, the state government alleged “malicious attempts” to discourage the use of products lacking a halal certificate not only seek “unfair financial benefits” but also form part of a “pre-planned strategy to sow class hatred, create divisions in society, and weaken the country” by “anti-national elements”. Strict legal measures will be taken against any individual or firm engaged in the production, storage, distribution, buying, and selling of halal-certified medicines, medical devices, and cosmetics within Uttar Pradesh, said the statement issued on 18/11/23. “Unrestrained propaganda is being disseminated within a particular section of society to discourage the use of product

IT IS NOT TIME TO REPENT. AFTER ONE DAY WORLD CUP FINAL 2023 SARASIJ MAJUMDER The ODI WC Final loss vs Australia is the latest chapter in what has turned out to be a long run of heartbreaks for Team India in ICC event knockout matches. The last time India won an ICC Final tournament was in 2013, under Mr. Dhoni of India. It was  Champion’s Trophy. Since then, India lost 9 ICC knock out tournament on trot, in Semi-final, or Final. Last is on LAST SUNDAY--19-11-23. The Heroics of Virat, Rahul, Shami, Bhumra , Rohit--- all became a big ZERO, when it mattered most. SEE THE TABLE BELOW:-- The trend clearly suggests that while India have played good in the initial stages—gets bogged down when the CHIPS ARE DRAWN, and Boys in the TEAM were segregated from Men. Australia, on the other hand, lost their opening two games at the start of the World Cup and then won seven in a TROT to enter the semifinals. And then won the most important TWO KNOCKOUT matches. In one match, a totally f

OPERATION--   POLO ANNEXATION OF HYDERABAD SARASIJ MAJUMDER During the partition of India in 1947, the princely states governed their realms on their own but they were still subject to the Subsidiary Alliance system that gave the British control over their external affairs. With the Indian Independence Act 1947, the policy of subsidiary alliances was abandoned and the princely states were given three options to decide their future: Accede to India Accede to Pakistan Remain Independent By 1948 most of the Princely States had acceded to India but the state of Hyderabad had chosen to join neither Pakistan nor India. Hyderabad was ruled by the Nizam, Mir Sir Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII. This was a case opposite to KASHMIR. He reigned over a large and MAJORITY Hindu population hoping to maintain his independence with an irregular army largely recruited from the Muslim aristocracy, known as the RAZAKARS. India was not letting a wealthy and powerful prince

1965 War, The Great PM OF INDIA And An Incompetent   Army Head SARASIJ MAJUMDER Pakistani General Ayyub Khan said “ Hindu morale would not stand more than a couple of hard blows at the right time and place.” After 1 month 2 weeks and 5 days of fighting , Pakistan’s dream of capturing Kashmir from India was crushed to dust. From invading Kashmir , they were forced to defend Lahore and Sialkot with tail in between legs. And desperately was seeking USA’s intervention to pressurize India to stop the war. And USA complied , asked USSR to use it’s good office with India for a CEASEFIRE. India generously agreed to the ceasefire after repeated pleas from the major powers, at a time when it was crushing Pakistan. At that time Indian Army chief was General Jayanta Nath Chaudhuri—commonly known as MUCHCHU CHAUDHURI . The Kolkata-born general came from an affluent background and had become army chief purely on the back of family connections and pure luck. Predictably he lacked war figh

ACCIDENTAL HONOUR TO ZHUKOV   BY STALIN SARASIJ MAJUMDER An interesting, but hilarious incident occurred after World War—II. Who would take the Victory Parade in Moscow, June 1945? After Nazi Germany had officially surrendered, Stalin summoned Marshal Zhukov to his Dacha and told him to take the Victory Parade about to be held at Red Square. Zhukov, not sure if Stalin really meant it or if he was just testing him, cautiously replied that since Stalin had made the greatest contribution to the victory, he should take the parade. However, Stalin insisted that Zhukov should do it; he even let Zhukov ride his favourite Arab stallion (as per Soviet tradition, a victory parade must be taken on horseback). The next day when Zhukov arrived at the parade rehearsal, he met Stalin’s son Vasily who leaked him a big secret: actually, Stalin had been preparing for weeks to take the parade on horseback. However, a few days before, he had fallen from the horse, suffered some quite serious i

USA INTEREFERING IN BANGLADESH SARASIJ MAJUMDER We do not need USA as   WORLD leader AND SELF-APPOINTED GURDIAN OF GLOBAL DEMOCRACY anymore. In a quick developing multi-polar world, all that the US needs to do is to have faith in the ability of people across the world to make choices for themselves in matters of their own countries. USA keeps on spoiling   this   using Military power, Clandestine operations, economic sanctions, offices of UNO … all with disastrous results. Many times, USA retreated with a broken and bloody Nose—still this country never learns! I rather completely blame USA CITIZENS not forcing their leaders, and CIA to stop interfering with other countries—particularly who are economically, and politically weak. The not so   recent push by the USA to ‘ensure democracy’ in South Asia has been in Bangladesh with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently announcing that any individual seen as undermining the democratic election process in Bangladesh would face

DARSHAN REVEALS IS “CASH FOR QUERY”   INTERNATIONALLY CONSPIRED? SARASIJ MAJUMDER Perhaps an International Conspiracy   went into smoke because of Custodian Dispute of one Dog—Henry—and his two masters (?)—one is an MP, and other is a Lawyer. Both were in a relationship soured. Businessman Darshan Hiranandani ,who resides in Dubai, submitted a "sworn" and Notarized Affidavit to the Ethics Committee of Lok Sabha, a day after he reportedly submitted a signed affidavit in the 'CASH FOR QUERY' allegations involving Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. Sources said both the affidavits are same. Hiranandani, in his affidavit, made allegations against Moitra, claiming that she provided him with her "Parliament login id, and password" so that he "could post questions directly on her behalf whenever required". In his three-page signed affidavit, Hiranandani said that he resides in Dubai and came across letters dated October 14, by Advocate

DOMESTIC APPLIANCES SELECTING THE RIGHT GEYSER SARASIJ MAJUMDER Winter is approaching. Some of you may buy new geyser; or some of you may like to change old one. Choosing the right geyser for your home involves considering several important factors. We will discuss those below. The selection of Geyser will vary, whether the water is SOFT, or HARD. First, we discuss Geyser suitable for soft water, as majority of supply water is with TDS below 200.   You need to determine the size of the water geyser that will best suit your needs. Consider the number of people to be using the geyser, frequency of use, and the size of your bathroom. Safety is another crucial factor to consider. Ensure that the water heater you choose comes with essential safety features like a capillary thermostat, automatic thermal cut-off, and a pressure release valve. These features are essential to protect against electric shocks, malfunction, and occasional burst due to over pressure, by formation of S
